Skye Class Tours is the brainchild of Skye Class. After successfully leading nearly 500 food tours in Edinburgh as a freelance guide, he set off to create his own tour company maintaining the same high quality he sought to deliver on every one of his tours.
Named after the Isle of Skye in Scotland, Skye considers Scotland as his favorite country and is particularly fond of the Isle of Skye. While he has experience leading tours on the Isle of Skye, Skye Class Tours is not limited to the Isle of Skye or even Scotland. The company seeks to maintain the same high-quality tours wherever they are delivered.
The History of Skye Class Tours
Skye spent considerable time working for a company that, sadly, did not share his viewpoint and passion to deliver high-quality tours. When it was made clear by the company they wanted a lower standard of tour, he set off to create his own tour company.
Skye Class has a background in management, teaching, cooking, and other fields of expertise. Combining his extensive knowledge and experience, he created Skye Class Tours to find the perfect balance between customer satisfaction, the best relationship with destinations (whether attractions, restaurants, etc), and employing the most experienced guides who are adequately rewarded for their stellar service.
How is Skye Class Tours Different?
Skye Class Tours is not against any other tour company. In fact, we prefer to partner with other companies to share guests, information, and advice. Rather, Skye Class Tours joins the small group of companies delivering bespoke tours customized for each guest. We consider the environment, the capacity of attractions, and other factors.
With food tours, we never use chain restaurants or tourist traps, or overload the same destination with too many guests. Instead, we love working with the best independent culinary entrepreneurs, family-run establishments, and new, avant-garde pop-ups to ensure tour guests get the very best experience possible.
What Guides Does Skye Class Tours Have?
Currently, all Skye Class Tours guides are freelance. Each guide has their own unique repertoire of skills and knowledge to use on the tour. We do not try to give the same tour over and over like a broken record. Every tour is a new experience, customized for the guests, the stops, the day, and every other relevant factor.
Our guides have the relevant insurance to lead each tour, training for emergencies, and the ability to deal with unexpected circumstances. We all take pride in our ability to think on our feet and adapt when needed. We deliver tours for passion, not a paycheck…but we like to be rewarded for a job done well.
